Tsugami Kōdō
Shakuhachi

Born in Tokyo, Tsugami Kōdō encountered the shakuhachi after entering the University of Tokyo.
He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Matsuyama Ryūmei in the university's shakuhachi club, and also under Tokumaru Jūmei while still a student, aspiring to become a shakuhachi performer.
After graduating from the University of Tokyo, he went on to study at the Faculty of Music at Tokyo University of the Arts. During his time at the university, he received the Ataka Award, the Ancasas Music Award, and the Doseikai Award. He completed the master's course at the Graduate School of Music at the same university.
Tsugami is pioneering various forms of appreciation, including lectures, concerts, and workshops, with a focus on classical performances.
He is a member of the Japan Sankyoku Association and the Kinko-ryū Gadō-kai.
